COVID-19

With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and the ripple of effects of local and state restrictions, at VIA Oregon, our goal remains keeping members informed about health and safety measures and changing requirements. As these restrictions are being lifted, we know how critical this information is for you and your renters. The latest guidelines for property rentals can be found here.

Essential workers and those needing an adequate shelter for quarantine, turned to vacation rentals as the solution. Many of these provided more seclusion in kitchen, lounging and recreation space, than would be available in a hotel with shared common areas. As more families and individuals are now traveling, a vacation rental property has a safer appeal than a busy hotel with more traffic and opportunity for exposure.

Beyond compliance information, the most critical information for hosts to know is how to appropriately clean before and after guests. The Vacation Rental Housekeeping Professionals (VRHP) and the Vacation Rental Management Association (VRMA) are recommending that existing cleaning programs be augmented to include even more rigorous sanitization and disinfection protocols. These recommendations can be found here.
